Apple CEO Tim Cook gave iPhone buyers great news. Apple recently set a new record in India. The company exported 6 billion iPhones from India in the last quarter. The company aims to export 10 billion iPhones from India. The company generated revenues of $94.9 billion in India between July and September, which is 6 percent more than last year.

A treat for iPhone buyers

Apple opened two retail stores in India last year in BKC Mumbai and Saket Delhi. The company will now open four more new Apple stores in India. This information was provided by the company’s CEO Tim Cook. After achieving record revenues in India, Tim Cook said that we are waiting for the opening of 4 new stores in India. In India, we want to work in the education sector and with the help of technology it will be very easy for us to do so. We want teachers to explain this to students while they themselves try to understand it.

Focus on manufacturing

The company is emphasizing on increasing manufacturing in India. The company has increased the number of its manufacturing units in India. Foxconn has been assembling Apple’s iPhones in India for many years. Meanwhile, Pegatron and Tata Electronics have also started assembling Apple’s iPhone.

Apple is focusing on India because of the government’s ‘Make in India’ policy and the country’s technological capabilities including local subsidies and skilled workforce. The iPhone is manufactured in India on the outskirts of Chennai. Foxconn is currently the largest iPhone supplier in India. Meanwhile, the Tata Group’s electronics manufacturing unit exported iPhones worth $1.7 billion to Karnataka in the April-September period.
