ChapGPT now has search engine functionality.

Users will be able to type something into a text box, click a small blue search button below it, or the AI will automatically search the web if your question requires it. The company behind the service, OpenAI, said Thursday that the service will also provide links to sources for the answers it provides.

“By integrating search with the chat interface, users can interact with information in a new way, while content creators gain new opportunities to reach a broader audience,” the company said. “We hope to help users discover publishers and websites, while providing more options for search.”

Currently, ChatGPT does not provide citations for its answers, and users cannot perform a web search directly from the platform.

OpenAI said it has worked with news publications and publishers, e.g Associated Press, Conde Nast and atlantic ocean, For feedback about the feature.

The change is now available for ChatGPT Plus and Team users and users in the SearchGPT queue. It will be available periodically to remaining users.
