BSNL has completed a major milestone in providing ultra-fast 4G connectivity to millions of its users. The company has installed 50,000 new 4G mobile towers across the country, of which 41,000 towers are now in operation. The company recently shared this information through its official X Index. The state telecom company also said that 5,000 4G mobile towers have been installed in those places where no mobile network has reached so far, i.e. Airtel, Jio or Vodafone Idea networks are not present there.
Airtel, Jio, Fuda Surprised!
When talking about mobile network connectivity in India, you will get mobile phone signals in about 95 percent of the places. BSNL has provided 4G connectivity to those remote areas. The state telecom company has set a target to install 1 lakh 4G mobile towers by June next year. After the commercial launch of Bharat Sanchar Nigam’s 4G service, tension between private companies Airtel, Jio and Vodafone-Idea will increase significantly.
Recently, private telecom companies have made recharging their mobile phones expensive, following which BSNL has added 55 lakh new mobile users in the last two months. At the same time, the number of private business users has fallen by the thousands. Jio suffered the biggest loss, losing around 4 million or 40,000 users. However, the country’s largest telecom company hopes its users will return to the network again.
I started getting better 4G connectivity
Besides 4G service, BSNL is also gearing up to launch 5G. The state telecommunications company is installing 4G/5G mobile phone towers based on local technology. After installing 50,000 new 4G mobile towers, BSNL users will get better connectivity than before. The company has also decided not to make recharge plans expensive in the near future. During the India Mobile conference held last month, the company said that the focus will be on increasing users rather than making plans expensive.
